One thing that we have long known about eeevil right-wing conservatives is that they will never let a crisis (or an atrocity) go to waste. Immediately something horrible happens, they are shamelessly using it to bash their old enemies, even when there is no association whatsoever!

Both my feminist cat Jocelyn and I were over the moon knowing that two of the world's foremost feminists would be making a TV appearance last Monday night. Yes, the sassy Gail Dines and Australia's own patriarchal-paradigm buster Leslie Cannold were to be panelists on our favourite show, Q and A. Fellow travellers, I just heard Julia Gillard on the ABC at the official launch of the National Broadband Network in Armidale, NSW. At the risk of sounding a little patriotic this is clearly a great day for Australia.

Fellow travellers, like many of you I tend not to watch the ABC as much as I used to. It seems to have become so much more conservative lately.
